Can I charge the car on the RV outlet?
You can physically, on some 14-50s. That is still not the right service for the install. A charger is EV charger installation — a continuous load, not a coach hookup.
Do I need a panel upgrade for 50 amps?
Not automatically. A 14-50 RV outlet is a 50-amp 240-volt receptacle, but an RV rarely pulls the full 50, so many services carry it. Whether yours is short is the panel upgrade question — the answer can be no.
30-amp or 50-amp?
The coach decides. Installing 50 because it is “future proof” on a service that cannot carry it is how people buy a trip.
The outlet is in the garage next to the welder.
Two different nameplates. The welder is the workshop circuit. This job is the RV receptacle and the cord route.
Can you run a 30 amp RV on a 220 outlet?
A 30 amp RV outlet is a specific listing. We install that outlet on a circuit sized for it.
Can you replace an RV outlet with a regular outlet?
The pedestal and the cord expect the RV configuration. We can add a separate house outlet on its own circuit if you need one.
