Lighting installation, exterior lighting, and ceiling fans
Fixtures, fans, and holiday lighting in Sacramento — laid out for the room, switched the way you use it, finished in the ceiling that is there.
Lighting installation
Recessed, canless, under-cabinet, or a full-room lighting install. Layout comes first, then the fixture that belongs in that ceiling.
Lighting installationOutdoor security lighting
Entries, paths, and security coverage. Weather rating and switching decide the fixture — this is not an indoor lighting job moved outside.

A ceiling fan is a fan-rated box and a support job. Christmas lighting is a power-and-roof job — both start here.

How lighting work is laid out before a fixture is cut in
Lighting is a layout job. The room, the switching, and the ceiling that is there decide the fixture — not a catalog page.
-
The room, not the catalog
Spacing, beam, and how the room is used come first. Recessed, canless, and under-cabinet are different housings for different ceilings. Lighting installation is that layout.
-
Switching travels with the fixture
A dimmer, a three-way, or an occupancy sensor has to match the load. The box and the neutral decide whether the control is a small job or a new run.
-
Exterior is weather-rated
Entries, paths, and security coverage are a different listing than an indoor fixture moved outside. That is outdoor security lighting.
-
A fan is a support job
A ceiling fan needs a fan-rated box and clearance. Hanging one from a lamp box is how fans come down. Christmas lighting is power and access on the roof, not a fixture swap.

Lighting questions
What to settle before holes are cut.
Can you reuse the existing cans?
Sometimes. An IC-rated housing in the right place can stay. A housing that will not take the new lamp, or a layout that never fit the room, is a different job — often canless lighting.
Do LED retrofits flicker?
Usually because the dimmer or the driver does not match the lamp. The device has to be listed for that load. We match the control to the fixture rather than swapping lamps until it stops.
Is a ceiling fan the same as a light?
No. A fan is a fan-rated box and a support job. Start at ceiling fan installation.
What do you need from me?
What is being lit, how it should switch, and whether the ceiling is open. Have the fixture on site, or the exact model, before anyone cuts a hole.
