Server-room power is dedicated circuits, a UPS landing, and a way to keep the room up when the floor is not. Sharing it with general office load is the usual failure. Cooling is part of the conversation even when it is someone else’s equipment.
The room in the suite
Dedicated circuits created with a TI, without the outage plan, are data room power.
The UPS itself
Input, output, and a bypass someone can use are UPS connections.
Standby behind it
A generator that has to carry the room is commercial generator electrical.
Server room redundancy is the difference between powered and up
A single feed with a UPS behind it is powered. Staying up through a failure is a second path: redundant feeds, dual-corded gear, and a cooling loop that does not drop when the racks do not.

Two independent paths, not one
Dual-corded equipment wants two independent paths — separate breakers, separate PDUs, ideally separate panels. One feed with a power strip is a single point of failure, UPS or not.

Cooling on the same plan
A room that keeps power and loses cooling is down in minutes. The condenser or mini-split circuit belongs on the same resilience plan as the racks, not on the office panel.

The whip to the rack
PDUs, in-row distribution, and the whips that feed each cabinet are sized to real rack load — the nameplate, not the two servers in there today.
When server room power isn’t the right job
Keeping the racks on through an outage is this job. Creating an IDF in a TI, or landing a UPS, are not.
The room is being created with the suite
That is data room power.
Only the UPS needs a landing
That is UPS connections.
Server room power questions
Can it share the office receptacles?
No. Sharing it with general office load is how a vacuum takes down a switch. Dedicated circuits are the point, and they have to keep the room up when the floor is not.
Is this the same as a data room in a TI?
No. Circuits and a path in the suite are data room power. This job is keeping the racks on through an outage.
The UPS is furnished by others.
The landing is still electrical. That connection is UPS connections.
Cooling is someone else’s equipment.
